Latin Name:  Falco Biarmicus

Neo is a parent reared bird. He enjoys flying to the lure with speed and precision. On warm days he will catch a thermal and soar up into the sky until he is no longer visible to the eye, only to return with a breathtaking stoop to the lure.

Neo joined us from The International Bird Of Prey Centre in 2014. The Falcons stoop is one of the most supreme, and dramatic events in natural history, and to witness this will never be forgotton!

Discover the awe-inspiring world of the Lanner Falcon with East Sussex Falconry! These magnificent birds of prey are powerful hunters, equipped with long talons and a tomial tooth on their beak for quick, efficient kills. When a Lanner Falcon captures its prey, it uses its sharp eyesight to watch for passing prey and soars to great heights in search of its next meal.

Typically, Lanner Falcons are 43–50 cm (17–20 in) length with a wingspan of 95–105 cm (37–41 in)

They resemble the Peregrine Falcon in appearance, but are smaller and less powerfully built, with a reddish brown head colour.

At East Sussex Falconry, we offer hands-on experiences in beautiful locations, sharing our passion for raptors with you. Whether you're watching these swift predators on exposed perches or witnessing them congregate in small groups, our goal is to make your day with these majestic creatures truly unforgettable. Join us for a day filled with thrills and learning as we introduce you to the world of the Lanner Falcon.
