Ash and Cedar the Harris Hawks

Harris Hawks live in the desserts of southern USA and south America. They are gregarious and hunt in the manner of a pack animal.

They range in length from 46 – 76cm and generally have a wingspan of 1.1 metre or 3.6ft.

The Harris Hawk has dark plumage with chestnut shoulders and long yellow legs. They are formally known as the Bay winged hawk.

Ash and Cedar.

Ash and Cedar joined the team in 2012 at East Sussex Falconry. They are brothers and they were untouched from last years birds.

We thought it would be great for them to stay together as these birds learn so much from each other. Their training has gone very well, both have lovely character and temperament and are a delight to fly!
